My tires weren’t discounted like I was told, BUT I reached out and Gary is sending me a check for the 4th tire. I had a check engine light that was diagnosed and the comment said “customer declined repair”. Nobody reached out to tell me what the issue was or how to fix it. I’ve been asking for the past two oil changes what was wrong. It would’ve been nice if someone could’ve explained this while I was there instead of make it seem like nothing was wrong with it and make it look like you reached out to me and I declined. I probably won’t be back for services in the future as I feel like I’m not given important information to keep me aware. (Other than from Brad, he always takes time to dumb it down for me which I appreciate.) I wish the best for the company, but I don’t feel like there’s closed loop communication which makes me lose trust. I hope this doesn’t come off the wrong way, I don’t mean to be disrespectful. :)

Had a car diagnosed for an intermittent no start issue and was given a solution of the battery being replaced due to it being the wrong size for the car. Was told that was the problem and it was fixed by this. However, as soon as I drove the car later that day, no start again, same as it was. So it had the correct battery installed, which was good, but seems like a better or deeper look into the issue could have shown that wasn’t the answer. The service advisor was polite and responsive, and I understand some issues can be complicated, but seems disappointing that $575,00 was spent, and no problem solved.

I took a car that had not been driven since 2019. There were things I knew needed to be done but I was expecting other things to arise because of the time since the last time it was driven. Indeed, they found a number of other issues. I knew how much I had budgeted for the initial repairs and I was provided with a detailed list along with the cost to repair. Other issues were encountered once the repair process started, and I expected that to happen. I was provided with a cost for each unanticipated repair. I was happy with the process, the amount I paid. My car was washed and I am very pleased with the results.

I have some type of maintenance agreement with the dealership. However, when I went in for service, the service department didn’t know what plan I had or if what I had done was covered by my plan. This truck is the biggest disappointment. This is my 6th or 7th new GM vehicle and all of them were perfect. This truck is unsafe!! Windshield wipers stop mid way on the windshield during heavy rain. Has been in the shop 2 times now for this and they don't know if it is fixed or not my wife will not drive in the truck because of this. I bought the truck to tow heavy loads like our tractor and camper. The sensors in the mirror stay on the entire time until they error out after a few hours of driving while towing anything . I was told this is normal and that it was my problem for not reading the owners manual prior to buying the truck. All other 2500HD truck owners that I talk to do not have this problem. I know these do not get read by anyone so I will not hold my breath. I cant use the truck for what it was intended for pulling tailors. Thanks Bob Rader 614-282-0360

I received my car back after service and had to clean every area the mechanic was near who wasn’t considerate enough to not get dirt and grease on my door panel, matts, leather seats. My car is 2-3 years old with just 11k miles and is in immaculate condition. I find it very disrespectful that the staff can’t use just a little bit of care when entering and exiting my car to avoid leaving their grease stains.

Was told my tire sensors were bad and all 4 needed replaced. I just had new ones put on less than 1 year ago. Took my car back to the company that installed them and was told they were working great. I just had a leak around my rim on one tire. Also, my system was never reset after my tire rotation. Another company fixed it for me for free. Your company needs to slow down the mechanics or fine good ones.

I’ve started this survey at least 3 times and each time it seems I have another disappointment to add to it. I took my car to Coughlin Buick, Newark, Ohio, back in March, 2025, when the brakes started squealing and was told GM realized there was an issue, but they couldn’t replace the brakes until I brought it back in a month or so with the squeal getting worse. Took back in April, 2025, and was told they would replace the brakes but since I needed a loaner car, they would call when one became available, which they said would be in a couple days. I waited over a month with no call and finally called on 5/13/25 and made appt to have car there 815 on 5/19/25 , I had a ride and didnt need loaner so they could do brakes, which they said was a 4 to 6 hr job, and I also requested an oil chg. At approximately 3:00 that afternoon, I got a call asking me”what exactly are you wanting us to do with your car?” They had only chged the oil. Didn’t know they were to do brakes. Said they couldn’t do brakes then because it needed GM approval and needed to be onsite continually after that request.Told we could leave it or pick up and they’d call with loaner the next or following day. Picked up car and waited for call. Waited, called and left messages with no replies. Finally left message on service managers vm. He finally returned my call 7/25/25 and indicated he’d have a loaner on Sat, Mon or Tues and would call me. He indicated he had no control over loaners … No call back so Tues I called and he said they had a loaner and I picked it up on 7/29. I made numerous calls trying to get an update but only received a text saying car was being repaired and they’d call with update. No one answers the phone in service and even switchboard said they would get a messages back to them and have them call but no return call. At one pt service dept calls went to service managers voice mail with a message saying…you’ve reached the vm of John and he is out of office and not checking his vm. Finally got thru to service around 8/5 and was told my car was being finished up as we speak, that the needed parts came in separately and the one they needed just came this am and the car would be ready next day or so and they would call. No call, no answer in service dept numerous times until 8/27 when John called late afternoon saying my car was ready and could be picked up by 6pm or in am. On 8/28 early am, John called again saying car ready and someone interested in the loaner so bring it in as soon as possible. On my way there, Fri am, got another call that car was ready. Got there and they practically grabbed the key to the loaner out of my hand and talked of who needed it immediately because the loaner had been sold. I asked John at that time how I could get 3 calls within 12 hrs when they wanted the loaner back but I couldn’t even get any call backs for an update on mine. He referred me to his vm the previous evening but didn’t answer my concern. He said they had wrong brakes and had to reorder and that the mistake was the computers fault and said he couldn’t understand or explain why it took so long or why no one got back with me other than they were overloaded and an advisor was off sick. The brakes seem to be fine, the sunroof doesn’t shake or squeal but I’m unable to reset the brake pad gauge as it’s showing the same 86% that it showed before the brakes were changed. I called the service dept on 9/4 and no one answered so call went to John’s vm to ask about gauge and have yet to get a call back. Another car issue they were to look at was originally addressed on 3/20/25 which they corrected with a wheel alignment and a steering wheel angle and/or front toe adjustment. I had explained the car was feeling like it wanted to pull left but didn’t when the wheel was released and something was adjusted previously and it was starting to feel that way again and that the steering column looked off center. They weren’t sure of my issue but assured me that they’d look at my records and find out what adjustment was made and recheck it. . But…the service print out indicated they drove the car and it didn’t pull so nothing was done to address the issue. I have purchased other cars from Coughlin Nissan and Coughlin Hyundai and never had a bad experience. I like my Buick but this situation sure took most of the joy out of enjoying it.

And it still took 10 min to get my car. So needless to say I probably will not be back cause it seems like every time I come it takes longer than needed but this time was the worst.

I scheduled an appointment for an oil change, brake check, and an alignment check. Dropped the vehicle off at the dealership the night before as it was the 7:15 AM appointment Thursday morning. I received zero communication from the service writer. There was an issue with the brakes. I called the service department and got the voicemail. I texted the service department with no response. I called after 5:00 and the switchboard operator kept trying the service department with no success. I drove in and was told my vehicle was still on the lift and undriveable. The remaining service writer stated that the other writer had a note in the file that they had called Wheels to get approval for the work and hadn't hear back. I called Wheels there was no approval request. Again, zero communication. This is a commercial lease, and I had appointment to service my customers the following day. I had to reschedule all the appointments to the following Monday. On Friday, I started calling the dealership and received no response. I ended up being transferred to the sales manager, he assured me he would have the service manager call me. I never got that call, still haven't. I didn't receive any communication from the dealership until after 1:00 stating they have everything into Wheels and are just waiting approval. Again, my fleet manager checked and there was no approval request. She called the dealership and approved the work. I waited until Saturday morning at 11:30 AM and went again, because I had no communication regarding the vehicle. It was not done, parts weren't in, and I was going to have to cancel my appointments again. I finally spoke to the general manager, and he was going to look into it. He then called me and suggested that it was my fault as the I must have provided the wrong phone number for Wheels. I told him that doesn't fly as they had serviced the vehicle several times, and the Wheels service passport was in the glove box as noted on the drop off envelope. He then offered me a loaner vehicle. My vehicle was finally finished Monday afternoon. This is not a onetime occurrence, this has happened, at the minimum, the last three times I had my vehicle at the dealership. It won't happen again as I will go elsewhere.

In a previous life I spent a considerable amount of time being in customer support. Both in delivering and managing. It is my perception that your service management team was woefully unprepared to deal with your tire deal (4 for 3). 1. Not enough inventory. I had to wait for the tires to arrive. Added down time. Better management needed. 2. When I inquired about tire warranty, the csr did not have any idea. Either what was included, or how it was administered. 3. Terrible response time to status of repair. (Both text, and voice mail). 4. The response was “we don’t have enough help”. Big no no from my management days. 5. The time for this repair event was entirely too long. My vehicle was in your shop for 2 days. For 4 tires? Not acceptable. 6. In retrospect. If I was to do this again, I would have pulled my vehicle, and gone to a tire store.

My girlfriend went to check on the car after 2 hours of waiting when I was told the appointment would only be a hour long and they told her it would be about 45 more mins to print off PAPER WORK in what work does it take that long to print paper work.. the place in pataskala is far better than Newark I will never go back

2:15 appointment and it was after 5:00 and nobody let me know my car was done. I went to check and saw it sitting outside. The guy said that the person working with me had left for the day and nobody told him my car was done. My car was not washed as it says comes with service.

The transmission replacement itself seems to have been done well, and the truck is running fine now. However, communication throughout the process was very frustrating. I had a hard time getting anyone to call me back, and when I called for updates I was often sent to voicemail. No one proactively updated me on the status of my vehicle. It only takes a minute or two to keep a customer informed, and that would have made a big difference in the overall experience.

I had experienced a loss of power steering on my new 2024 Colorado that I have only had since October 2024, and had Coughlin do a check on my problem. They found the battery was defective and would not hold a charge as it should have. They replaced the battery and comped me installation charge as they felt I had waited more than long enough for the service call to be performed. They also did an oil change and fluids check and tire rotation.

Communication with our repair was poor to nonexistent. We made multiple phone calls to check on the status. Many of which went unanswered and unreturned. The timeline of the return was not event close to what was quoted (much longer). We do not plan to return to the Newark location for any further service due to our experience.

I traded a 2025 Nissan Sentra in on a 2026 Chevy Trax. I had originally thought that I strictly wanted another KIA. Drew, my sales Associate, met me outside the dealership. As a long time customer over several years, I've had nothing but great experiences at Coughlin up until my last service experience. Not only did the cost increase by over 60% of the written estimate (i.e., with no extra work/parts added), but I was taken a back at just how rude the gentleman was to me for just trying to understand why. Very unfortunate. I've never been spoken to like that by any representative of a company who provides a service, so I was at a loss to say the least...I hope this was an isolated situation for your service department, and not the beginning of a trend, as it could be detrimental to a great local business with a great reputation.

I was treated very poorly by the service manager. At one point in time, he actually walked away from me while I was asking questions. I came in with an intermittent parking light coming on and needed new windshield blades. When I left five days later, it was well over $2,300 and I was denied a rental. I have the premium service package and was told that this package is extremely good because of towing and rentals are expensive, however, the service manager said he didn’t have any rentals and absolutely refused to consider compensating me for not giving me a rental. He claimed that what was wrong with my truck wasn’t covered under my premium service plan. I asked how did he know ahead of time before he figured out what was wrong with my truck that a rental wasn’t covered? That is about the time he walked out on our conversation and he “handed” me over to another individual. Neither were receptive or even wanted to deal with me. I eventually did speak to two people in the sales area who were very understanding and your new service manager did look into my case and called Allstate and has procured me $180 that the old service manager claimed wasn’t even close to covered. I still have a few years on my plan because of time and mileage, but I will try to go to the Pataskala shop and not the Newark shop. It was almost like the service shop was against the sales and financial people. I think I get it. Financial uses pretty high pressure sales to get buyers to cover their vehicles with the plans and service tries as hard as possible to deny those plans. To the point that they have no idea the person getting service has any plan at all! I think it would be an easy computer fix, when a vehicle is purchased to simply add in the computer that this vehicle is covered by a specific plan. The service manager has no idea that my truck had the premium service plan. The last time I had it serviced I asked if any part of it was covered by my plan and he said, “I have no idea, you’ll, you’ll have to ask them”. Just the worst attitude I have ever experienced with service managers. I truly hope the new one is better, but that didn’t help me at all last week! And, communication was terrible. I didn’t hear from him for about two days while my truck was in for what I thought was a simple fix.
