The Top 3 Seafood Restaurants and Bars Worth the Drive Near Newark, OH

Watt’s Restaurant 

If you’re looking for classic American-style fried seafood, Watt’s Restaurant is the place you want to be hitting up. The menu is huge and diverse and includes such favorites as fried oysters, crab cakes, and breaded clam strips. If you’re dining with someone who doesn’t eat seafood then don’t worry as Watt’s Restaurant also serves up steaks, lasagna, and pork chops, so everyone will find something to enjoy.

Watt’s Restaurant can be found in Utica, about a 20-minute drive from Newark, and they don’t deliver, but thankfully, with the 1.5L turbocharged engine on the all-new Chevrolet Malibu LS, you can be sure that you’ll get your food back to the family while it’s still piping hot!

Dragon Village of Buckeye Lake

Drive south out of Newark and you will find this beautiful spot next to Buckeye Lake. Dragon Village, as you might have guessed from the name, is a Chinese restaurant that serves up a huge selection of diverse and interesting Asian dishes, including a ton of seafood options ranging from the spicy Szechuan shrimp to the massive Seafood Delight which features lobster meat, crab, shrimp, and scallops with a selection of vegetable sides.

Tequilaville

When it comes to Mexican-inspired dishes, look no further than Tequilaville. Situated just west of Newark, this quaint restaurant is definitely worth a visit for its seafood options, which include the likes of fish tacos, shrimp fajitas, and the seafood Yucatan; a massive portion of shrimp and scallops served on a bed of Yucatan-style salsa with onions, tomatoes, zucchini, peppers, and squash, and accompanied by a side of rice, pico de gallo, and sour cream.

As you could probably guess from the name, Tequilaville is also a great spot to come for a drink. The bar has a 3-hour Happy Hour from 3 pm – 6 pm during which you can enjoy margaritas and daiquiris at a massively discounted price, but please remember to drink responsibly, never drink and drive, and never allow anyone under the legal drinking age to consume alcohol.
