2022 Chevrolet Equinox

The Equinox comes standard with 19-inch aluminum wheels and makes a statement with a unique lower fascia with body-color inserts, black side rails, a black window surround, ultra-bright LED headlights, and a distinctive mesh grille with Chevrolet's signature bowtie emblem. A wide wheelbase also helps the Equinox to stand out on the road. You can choose your choice of four trims: the LS, LT, RS, and Premier. The RS adds a sportier look with a gloss black grille and black wheels. It also adds LED taillights for additional visibility, while the Premier adds 18-inch wheels.

A single turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine powers the Equinox, producing 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. The engine is good for accelerating onto the freeway and handling everyday traffic and pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Four-wheel drive is standard on the Equinox, while all-wheel drive is optional. The SUV is easy to drive and handles competently, regardless of the traffic conditions. With a quick, precise steering wheel, it's unlikely the Equinox will drift lanes too easily. The towing capacity of 1,500 is also great for hauling small trailers, campers, and furniture.

The Equinox's cabin provides plenty of space for five passengers, with extra headroom and legroom to spare. With the rear seats folded down, the capacity increases to 64 cubic feet. The rear seats also make reclining easy, and a number of cup-holders add convenience. The spacious interior is also rich with features sure to keep passengers entertained during long trips. The Equinox comes standard with a six-speaker audio system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a seven-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth phone, and audio streaming, USB connectivity, and a Wi-Fi hotspot, making it one of the best-connected crossovers on the market. A seven-inch touchscreen and wireless charging are also available.

All Equinox trims are equipped with Chevrolet's Safety Assist system that includes a suite of driver-assistance technologies like forward-collision alert, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, a following distance monitor, and rear-cross traffic alert. The RS trim adds both front and rear park assist, so you won't have to worry about potentially hitting another vehicle as you're in the process of parking. All trims come with a rearview camera that provides a clear view of the area directly behind your vehicle, and a surround-view camera that displays your vehicle's immediate surroundings is also available. Standard passive features include a StabiliTrak electronic stability control system with traction control and teen driving technology.
